5 Favorite Summer Activities in OC
Summer is JUST around the corner, and with lockdown restrictions easing up, a lot of us are headed outside to enjoy the wonderful California sunshine. So whether you’re a local or on vacation, you might be in need of some things to do. Well, here are our top-five recommendations for some classic OC fun!

1. Day Trip to Catalina
Brave the current and take the ferry out to Catalina Island for a day of shopping, water and land activities, and of course, a tasty bison burger (yes, from actual bison) and a sweet buffalo milk (not from actual buffalos). You can even go off-roading on an open-air JEEP through the mountainside and see some real-life bison (also actual bison).
2. Cruise Newport Harbor in a Duffy Boat
Bring the family along for a mellow afternoon in the harbor, complete with your favorite drinks, snacks, and tunes. You never know what you might see out there. Maybe some paddleboarders, crew teams, and sea lions.
3. Catch a Wave
Rent a jetski, a surfboard, a sailboat or other watercraft and enjoy the cool ocean spray. Don’t quite trust your navigating skills? Take a dolphin or whale-watching tour or fishing trip with professionals.
4. Take a Beachside Hike
California is blessed with some of the best beaches in the country. Take to the shores with tennis shoes and a backpack full of refreshments and do some exploring! The Laguna Beach Pirate Tower is a top tourist attraction, not to mention the plethora of tide pools. Plus, you’re bound to find a Ruby’s Diner nearby for a post-hike milkshake.
5. See OC from the Skies
Of course, we can’t end a list of our favorite OC summer activities without mentioning our helicopter tours! Experience OC from new heights and take an open-air or air-conditioned ride over the beach and capture all the sights in one trip.
