Flight School Update

Hey, #FLYROGUE Community!

Here we are at the year and a half mark into this Rogue Aviation story, and we thought it might be a good time for a quick update straight from us!

We’ve learned a lot over the past 18 months! When we started Rogue Aviation, we committed ourselves to putting safety first. Some of the ways this has played out practically includes our Rogue Aviation Rental Program Tiers, ongoing currency training for our Rogue CFIs, instituting an incredibly thorough maintenance program, beginning development on a unified curriculum for our Rogue CFIs, and designing a custom Safety Management System (SMS) for our operation. We also started a new monthly blog series in January that focuses on our number one value of safety. (Check that out here!)

We’ve also learned is that placing safety first is not cheap. In addition to the items mentioned above, fuel prices have risen pretty significantly at John Wayne in the last year, and due to a number of local helicopter incidents in the past year or so, our insurance premiums went up this year when we’d believed they would go down.

All that to say, we’re going to have to make a rate change in the next few months. The good news is that this only affects R22 rates, and we’ll still be the lowest hourly R22 rate on the field!

So, as of June 1, 2019, the hourly training rate (w/ CFI) on the R22 will be $310 per hour. The hourly rental rate on the R22 (w/out CFI) will be $280 per hour.

You’ll still get 2% off if you don’t pay by credit card, and you’re still getting Rogue Frequent Flyer points for every hour you fly!

We are so grateful to each of you for your support as we continue to provide flight services rooted in safety, integrity, and community.

Thank you for being a part of the #FLYROGUE story!

James, Matt, and Brian
