Get to Class with CFI Tyler Papa
Look out, aviation world! There’s a new CFI on the scene at Rogue Aviation after our student Tyler finished his CFI rating! (Huge deal, by the way!)
Tyler studied under Chief Pilot James and CFI John, who we know are awesome.
Tyler says, “[John] has a great attitude and is extremely helpful when things are tough. He helped me feel good and confident as a pilot. He is motivating and helps you stay on top of things.”
Let’s check in with Tyler and see how it went!
So, we have to know. Why Rogue Aviation?
“Rogue has been the best school I’ve been to so far. The instructors are great and have made me feel great to be a pilot. Flights are always great with safety as the highest priority. James, the owner, is a safety pilot for Robinson so there’s not a whole lot more you can ask from a school when it comes to being on top of maintenance and training.”
How did lessons go?
“Content was deep and concise. To the point and the instructors are very knowledgeable about the material and are apt to answer questions. They’re honest, when they don’t know something they admit it and we look it up and learn together. There’s no dancing around questions or bs if they don’t know.”
What was your favorite part?
“Flight lessons are great. Instructors give you room to learn without making you feel bad about mistakes. They are cut and dry about what you do well and where you need improvement. Safety is of the highest concern, and it’s very obvious to them and helps you as a student understand what is acceptable and what is not.”
As always, training and finding your footing as a pilot gets tough, and for Tyler, making lesson plans was far from easy.
Advice from our CFIs came in clutch though!
“Never did I feel embarrassed about making a mistake, and I did make plenty. Becoming a CFI is difficult, but they made me feel like it wasn’t so hard. They were relatable and helped me climb the ladder of success with challenges in flight and on the ground. I felt as though I grew a lot as a pilot and feel now empowered as a CFI myself,” Tyler said.
Tyler, we are HYPED to have you on the #FlyRogue team! We can’t wait to see your students succeed under your teaching!
