Welcome Michelle to the Team!
This October, we welcomed a new CFI to the team! For Michelle Astergard, “no day looks like the other,” and that’s just how she likes it!
Michelle is no stranger to flying. After starting her flight journey in Sweden in 2017, she earned her commercial ESA helicopter rating before moving to Hawaii and earning her commercial, CFI, IR, and CFII. Then it was time to head to the mainland for something totally new.
In the years leading up to earning her pilot certificates, she developed her passion for flying as a flight attendant with the intention of training on fixed-wing.
“After working on airplanes for four years, I realized I wanted to fly more "hands on" and applied for helicopter school.” Michelle says.
Now, here she is with our team, which she says she chose for concern for safety, our employees, and our students.
Michelle says, “They make flying fun, as it should be!” Aww, shucks. We’re so flattered!
Michelle knows how to enjoy the experience and says,
“Sometimes you have to pinch yourself when looking out through the windows from 800ft and realize that this is a profession! Be prepared to study hard, but also remember to enjoy the ride.”
Enjoying the ride is so important to us as a team, as pilots, and as fellow members of the OC flight community, and we are hyped to have her here with us!
