Things to Do in Orange County for Spring Break 2022
Spring Break is so close we can almost taste it! Are you prepared for an epic vacation in Orange County?
We’ve pulled together a list of our favorite outdoor activities and destinations, fit for locals and tourists alike!
1. Pack a Picnic for Lunch at Irvine Park
True fact: PB&Js taste better when you eat them outside. We don’t make the rules. So grab some sandwiches, your favorite snacks, a picnic blanket, and head to Irvine Park. They have a ton of activities here: paddle boats, a train, volleyball.. You get the idea!
2. Hang Ten in Surf City USA
Need something a little more exciting? Go get gnarlllyyyy, dude, at Huntington Beach! Plus, when you inevitably wipe out, you can always grab a burger and milkshake from Ruby’s Diner to recover or buy some sweet SoCal merch on the many shops along Main Street.
3. Enjoy a Sweet Treat at Balboa Island and Peninsula
For more of a mellow vacay, bring the kids to Balboa in Newport for some chilled, chocolatey Balboa Bars or frozen bananas. Be sure to bring some change for the arcade too! And if you’re still hungry, there’s also a Ruby’s on the pier here as well.
4. Take a Hike (or a Bike!)
If you’re looking for a bit of isolation, hit the trails in South Orange County. You’ll find great views of some fabulous homes and, of course, that stunning coastline. Do NOT forget your sunscreen. (Thanks us later.)
5. Paddleboard in Newport Harbor
Get your workout in with a paddle + board in Newport Harbor! You’ll meander through the boats, see the ferry crossing over to Balboa Island, and maybe even spot some seals basking in the sun. Plus, you can also reward yourself with dessert after (see #3!).
6. Cruise in a Duffy Boat with the Fam
Be the captain of your own adventure and book a Duffy Boat in Newport Harbor! You can even pack a lunch and some games for a great afternoon out of it. This is a great way to see the beautiful homes and boats along the harbor without paddling.
7. Shopping at Fashion Island or Irvine Spectrum
Need some retail therapy? Head to an outdoor mall! Fashion Island and Irvine Spectrum both have plenty to offer: quality stores, TONS of food options and more. (Irvine Spectrum even has a ferris wheel!) And lest we forget… they’re dog friendly!
8. Book a Helicopter Tour and See it All!
Feel like seeing a bit of everything and more? Take to the skies and see Orange County the way the birds see it!
For a limited time, you can use the code SPRINGBREAK22 and get 10% off any tour purchased between March 1st-March 31st.
